EUROPEAN UNION STRUCTURAL FUNDS
On May 26th, Portugal submitted the Reprogramming of the PRR, which includes the new REPoweEU chapter. On 22 September it received a positive assessment from the European Commission and on 17 October the new Council Implementation Decision (CID) was adopted by the Council of the European Union, in which the 461 disbursement milestones and targets were established, as well as the description investment objectives and Reforms. With the reprogramming update, the PRR now has an allocation of 22.2 billion euros, to implement 44 reforms and 117 investments.
The updated PRR presents greater ambition, having not reduced the number of investments or reforms and having, for the most part, increased its objectives. The plan currently has an even greater focus on the green transition, allocating 41.2% (37.9% in the original plan) of available funds to measures that support climate objectives, maintaining ambition in the digital transition, dedicating 21.1 % of its total allocation and reinforces the ambition of the social dimension.
Dedicated to Innovation and Digital Transition, this programme has a total of 3.905 billion euros financed by the ERDF and ESF+.
This programme is aimed at the less developed regions of the continent and the Autonomous Regions to support innovation and competitiveness, the energy transition and skills for competitiveness.
Programme priorities:
Includes interventions in digitalisation, research and innovation, as well as the growth and competitiveness of SMEs.
It will also support companies in decarbonisation projects and support the production of renewable energies.
And it will support the adaptation of workers and companies to change.

Dedicated to demographics, qualifications and inclusion, this programme will have an allocation of around This programme will have a total of 393 million euros financed by FEAMPA for the entire national territory, with the aim of supporting investments in fisheries sustainability, energy efficiency and decarbonisation, biodiversity, the valorisation of fisheries products and local development, contributing in particular to the Portugal + Verde objective and, to a lesser extent, to the Portugal + Próximo objective.

The European Commission has approved the Centro Regional Programme (Centro 2030) for the next programming period 2021-2027. Through this Programme, the Centro region has 2.2 billion euros of European funds to finance investments in the region.
The Centro 2030 Programme aims to promote the competitiveness of the economy, environmental sustainability and the enhancement of the territory and people in the region, within the framework of the European Union's Cohesion Policy. This programme is intended to operationalise the region's development strategy and the sub-regional strategies of the Intermunicipal Communities.
